The inverter operates with potentially lethal voltage and current from multiple power sources. Only qualified personnel should attempt to work on the inverter. The inverter must be isolated and locked-out from all AC and DC power sources prior to installing the hardware necessary for RS485 communication.
To connect a Solis inverter to a Raspberry Pi RS485, use the Exceedconn EC04681-2014-BF connector on the inverter''s data COM port. Connect pin 3 to A on the RS485 Pi and pin 4 to B.
The purpose of the RS485 wiring in Sungrow SH**RS and SH**RT inverters is to allow multiple inverters to be controlled from one energy meter. As the single and 3-phase configurations are different, we will deal with each separately. The connection is done via the RS485 cable, and runs from meter to master, then to slave(s).
If connecting two RS485 cables in parallel, please use the provided Bootlace terminators. The maximum number of 3-Phase Hybrid inverters that can be connected inn parallel is 5 (five) – One Master, and up to Four slaves.
