These protocols define the communication among lighting devices and control systems, and many open standards allow interoperability among products from different manufacturers. They offer flexibility and a wide simplified selection in updates and implementations to installed systems.
LED lights are renowned for their ability to convert a higher percentage of electrical energy into visible light, which translates to reduced electricity consumption. This means lower operational costs over the lifespan of the lighting system, making LEDs a cost-effective and sustainable option for container conversions.
This study focuses on developing and implementing an MPPT algorithm and an integrated control strategy for a LoRaWAN-based street lighting system utilizing an ARM-based microcontroller. The system architecture, including the energy management and control components, is illustrated in Figure 6.
