Sodium-ion batteries are increasingly developed due to their abundant sources and lower price. Their energy storage mechanism is almost identical to that of lithium-ion batteries, making them a viable reference . Fig. 2 shows the working mechanism of sodium-ion batteries.
Because of abundant sodium resources and compatibility with commercial industrial systems 4, aqueous sodium-ion batteries (ASIBs) are practically promising for affordable, sustainable and safe large-scale energy storage.
Fig. 2 shows the working mechanism of sodium-ion batteries. The principal components of sodium-ion batteries include anode, cathode, and electrolyte. These components are crucial for performance aspects such as thermal resistance, energy storage capacity, cycling performance, and safety.
